UGA BOUND

PARKVIEW HIGH GRADUATE

About Trey

Trey was born April 1, 1998 at Rockdale County Hospital.  His given name, Clarence Golden III. This was quite a name for such a little guy.  He was named after his father and grandfather, two wonderful men and strong role models in his life.   From the very start Trey was a happy and easy-going child.  He enjoyed swimming, chess and reading.  One of his favorite book series was Arthur Pendragon.  His love of learning lead him to be a great student.  Trey also participated in  basketball, soccer and martial arts.  He earned a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

In sixth grade he developed a love of music.  He joined the middle school orchestra and classical music became a favorite. His instrument of choice, viola.  He chose the viola because most of the other students chose violin.  He wanted to be different and so it began.  Soon after joining the school's orchestra his passionate for playing the viola grew and he began private lessons.  Any opportunity he had to play he would do so, summer camps, Violapalooza, recitals, Kendall, Gwinnett County Youth Symphony, String Orchestra of Decatur... and anytime Grandpa requests.

Trey's love for the University of Georgia came in 2014 during the summer music camp.  His playing skills and musical knowledge grew.  He discovered his perfect fit among the UGA strings music department and never looked back.  He received his official acceptance letter into UGA on March 24, 2016.  He will end his secondary education and graduate from Parkview High School with honors on May 25, 2016.

Trey is very excited to begin his higher education journey at UGA.  Go Dawgs!  Sic 'em!  Woof, woof woof!

Trey completed his undergraduate degree in music performance in 2020 from the University of Georgia as an honor student.

His next journey is obtaining a master’s degree in music performance from the University of Memphis in 2022.
